Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Ortomate Ltd., 12 Jessie Street, Wellington, New Zealand, for the use of CoWrite (cowrite.co). By creating an account you accept these terms.

2. The service

CoWrite is an AI writing companion: it hosts your book projects, provides AI-assisted conversations, captures notes ("memories"), generates book outlines and exports your material. AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate — you are responsible for reviewing and verifying anything you use.

3. Your content

You own everything you write and everything CoWrite generates within your projects. You grant us only the licence needed to store and process that content to operate the service. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • The Free plan includes 1 project and a monthly AI message allowance.
  • Solo Writer is USD $29/month, billed via Stripe, and renews automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel anytime from the billing page; access to paid features continues to the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • Monthly AI message allowances reset each calendar month and do not roll over.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful content, no attempts to breach security or access other users' data, no reselling of the AI capability, and no automated scraping. We may suspend accounts that breach these rules.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the service we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your content.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
